We can't believe it's already that time of year. There’s arguably no better place to experience the seasonal change than New England. The foliage, stunning architecture, historically rich sites, and an essence you just can’t replicate anywhere else.

What does it means to reflect New England in your style? In your home? To us, New England isn’t just a place or a feeling. It’s a lifestyle. As a Massachusetts-based interior design studio, New England is embedded in our work. We don’t chase seasons but embrace them and honor the beauty of the region in the details. Tradition over trends. Always.

A Time to Gather

Fall also marks a time of gathering. What better place to gather than in a home that reflects your individual style? Homes are the backdrop of the memories we cherish most. We believe the best homes are made when design and lifestyle align.

In summer, the home is a landing place for the end of the day. Beach trips, barbeques, garden gatherings, you name it. In fall, the home becomes the experience. Lounging by the fireplace, watching the shedding leaves through your windows, making a hearty meal. It’s the liminal space between warmth and winter. A time to reflect, recoup, and recharge. It’s the release of a deep breath. A much needed deep breath.

There’s something magical about sitting down around a big table with friends and family, appreciating each other’s company, reflecting on memories, making new ones. Exceptional design is emotive: it influences and inspires. Never underestimate a room’s ability to influence your mood, the tone of your home, and its ability to amplify the moment.

Seasonal Swaps

So many of us love fall. We start thinking about it before summer has a chance to end. It brings a fresh perspective to our lives. By the time it arrives, we’re already invested. Colorful mums, clusters of pumpkins and misshapen squash on the porch, fall candles, logs crackling in the fireplace, trinkets on shelves. Our homes become reflections of our love for the seasonal change. In fall, this might mean simple swaps. This week, we’re focusing on pulling out some of our favorite dishware, cozy quilts, and finding beautiful branches right in our own backyard. If you don't have any real foliage and branches nearby, we've shared some of our favorite faux options in our fall studio selects.

We often think we can put a date on the start of something. I’ll do it on Monday. I’ll start next week. The thing about interior design is that you don’t need to wait for a season or certain time of year in order to begin. Exceptional design is timeless. Once materialized, it remains a constant throughout the many pivots and changes in your life. Classic interiors create memorable backdrops for everyday living. For all of the moments: big and small. In fall, home is a place to host, gather, and enjoy. Home is where the heart is—we’ve all heard it before. For us, home is the heart. And when the heart is rooted and steady, everything else falls into place.

Fleeting Seasons, Dependable Design

As summer gives way to fall and we enter a time of change, putting time and energy into creating something that will last is important. Seasons are fleeting and are certain to change. What you can count on is timeless, enduring design when you work with us. Design that doesn’t depend on seasonal pieces to feel relevant but is accentuated by them.

There’s a reason so many people flock to New England at this time of year: it’s inspiring. The beautiful foliage, the quaint towns, the charm, the history. The magic is palpable. As New Englanders, those very qualities that inspire others to visit our region are part of who we are. Design that’s tailored to you and your family is a way to capture that magic and reflect it in your home—in the everyday—so that your life is that much more meaningful.
